From the Kirk Originals website:

When Sidney and Percy Kirk converted a dilapidated sewing machine into a lens cutter in 1919, they did not expect their pioneering designs to be fashionable into the next century.

Today, inspired by the discovery of a treasure trove of original frames in the family practice, Kirk Originals create unique limited-edition eyewear, continuing the good work of Sidney and Percy.

I have a question: What's with the old sewing machine? Why not use a new one? (Maybe they'd just come back from the war and had a bit of shell shock).

Regardless of my lack of deference to two (probably) war heroes, their small company has grown and their grandson Jason has done a sterling job designing some pretty damn cool designs.
